Nationally agreed and Health Information Standards Organisation (HISO) endorsed data standards help facilitate the timely sharing of cancer data and information for decision making, improvement and research.

We provide leadership and oversight of cancer control and unite efforts to deliver better cancer outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand, under the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2026 - 2029.

We are a departmental agency reporting directly to the Minister of Health and hosted by the Ministry of Health. The Agency was set up in recognition of the impact cancer has on the lives of New Zealanders to provide a focus on this important health issue.
